It follows the ikekomi-gata (buried-post) style, where the base is partially or fully buried in the ground for a grounded, seamless integration into the landscape—no visible pedestal platform disrupts the natural flow.  Key features include:
  • A tall, square or rectangular pillar that serves as both support and focal element.
  • A firebox (light chamber) integrated into the upper section, typically with two main window openings (one front, one back) for light to shine through, plus smaller moon-shaped or decorative openings on the sides in many variations.
