Kodai Rokkaku Yukimi

Named for its "kodai" (ancient or classic) design and "rokkaku" (hexagonal) roof form, this lantern features a distinctive hexagonal kasa (roof) that elegantly flares outward, often with finely carved detailing that highlights masterful craftsmanship. The light chamber (hibukuro) is typically six-sided, allowing soft, diffused illumination that evokes the gentle glow of a lantern partially blanketed in snow—hence the "yukimi" name, meaning "snow-viewing." Its low, grounded profile, supported by a broad base and multiple legs (commonly three or four), gives it a stable, harmonious appearance that blends seamlessly into natural landscapes, pond edges, or mossy garden paths.
