The Oribe-style stone lantern (Oribe-dōrō) is a classic of traditional Japanese tea gardens, popularized by tea master Furuta Oribe in the early Edo period. This ikekomi-gata (buried-base) design features a square post set directly into the ground, supporting a simple square platform, a cubic firebox with distinctive openings—square front/rear windows plus crescent and full-moon side cutouts—and a gracefully curved, four-sided roof topped by a finial. The form radiates understated elegance and rustic charm, perfect for guiding paths to a teahouse.   Ideal as a serene focal point near walkways, water features, or garden entrances.
