The original use is uncertain—it may have served as a wash trough for hands or clothing, a farm vessel, or another working basin. What is clear is the age: thick hand-worked walls, weathered faces, and the kind of wear that only comes from real use.The stone is granite, with a mottled gray and warm beige surface, softened edges, and natural pitting. One end has two round openings; the other has a carved gap between two blocky corners. Those details are part of the piece, not later additions. At nearly seven and a half feet long and only 10" tall, it sits low and wide. The interior is shallow at 5", so it works best as a low planter, a reflecting basin, a water feature, or a sculptural garden element rather than a deep pot.
